NEWS: Jericho Monster Wins Hey! Nielsen's "Top TV Blog" Contest
"Blogs are the epicenter of online passion, and these TV blogs are taking passion to an entirely new level," explained Pete Blackshaw, EVP of Nielsen Online Strategic Services and a member of the HeyNielsen.com team.
"The common thread across the winners is deep, in-depth, spirited - and sometimes controversial - rants and raves about shows, including those which got cancelled."
"The Nielsen Company says only 13.7 percent of TV households in the U.S. have High-Definition TVs -- and the high-def tuners necessary to watch HD programming.
Additionally, only 11.3 percent have the sets, the tuners and receive at least one HD network or station, the company said.
The numbers may alarm some advertisers and other companies looking to target the high-def audience. There has been a perception among some that the HDTV' audience is larger due to reports that high-def sets are now in 30 million U.S. homes."

Jericho Comes To the UK
From Rich at Copywrite Ink:
"Sure, I think Nielsen would have been better off, years ago, partnering with cable companies and giving consumers the opportunity to opt in with the Nielsen ratings system, which would have increased the sampling size. But they didn't. And now it seems it is becoming more difficult for one of America's best known research companies to leapfrog to the next system while installing old media meters."
"I do loves me some cross-pollination on my favorite shows.
Episode 6 of Jericho’s Season 2 will be directed by Scott Peters, according to the official Jericho production blog.
Who’s he? None other than the creator of The 4400.
In other news, the Jericho crew goes through 15 to 20 pots of coffee and 25 cases of bottled water a day."

Jericho Rally Point Proclamation
Jericho Promotion Month, September 2007
A Proclamation by Jericho Rally Point
It is DO OR DIE TIME for the promotion of Jericho..."It is vital that Jericho fans regain that motivation and passion that brought CBS to the decision to give fans seven more episodes. Fans need to recognize the historical achievements that they made four months ago and ensure that Jericho can count on them to do everything in their power to keep it alive."
NOW, THEREFORE, JERICHO RALLY POINT do hereby proclaim September 2007 as JERICHO PROMOTION MONTH. We call upon the people of the Jericho fandom to observe this month with the appropriate actions and activities comparable to those displayed from May 16- June 6, 2007. These activities include resuming the promotion of Jericho wherever you can, however you can. This is our last chance to show CBS that we are serious. We invite all the Jericho fans from all the boards, blogs and sites to join us to Promote Jericho (heavily) through the month of September 2007. Dust off some of the old ideas and share them with your fellow Rangers and lets make sure Jericho lives a long, long time.
Signed,
Jericho Rally Point

Pass The Peanut Marathon

*** Just Arrived***
"Thank You Fans Reel" from Comic Con
MUST SEE!! Cast thanks fans.
PASS THE PEANUT PLEASE!!!!!!!!
We have the opportunity to make history again...As you know we Rangers are faithful voters in TV_Vote Poll for the best shows of all time..
* We average about 507 votes each day.
* We currently need 1,151 votes to make make the number 1 place in the Daily Top 40 poll.
* We will need 4,139 votes (as of today) to make it into the Top 40 shows of all time!
* Looking at our average totals we should hold the #1 Daily Top 40 poll by this weekend, and Jericho could hold a one of the spots in the top 40 best shows of all time in less than 2 weeks.
If we start a Pass the Peanut Marathon it might not only help with the numbers, but also add a bit of fun to the whole voting process!

Jericho and Social Engineering
Here's a little background for this post.
Blogger A wrote a funny post that some Rangers didn't find amusing so they launched a personal attack on her that went on for days. Blogger B comes along and uses Blogger A's post to continue the debacle. Blogger A comments on Blogger B's post that she now hates Jericho because of the attacks on her. Another poster says she won't watch Jericho now either. So, when I found this post today I knew I wanted everybody to read it.

"Ok...so I thought, in light of a spectacular blunder, that some thoughts towards how to tailor our blog comments and responses to mainstream media stories was in order.
Much of this stuff, we regulars here are aware of, but since we've got some new users and viewers coming along, it bears repeating. Everyone feel free to add comments or experiences, or share your knowledge.
First off, I made a statement on a CBS thread that I think is a good overall guideline..."Treat these people like you are trying to borrow money from them". Get it? Pander to their vanities...compliment them on their writings or ideas...if it's a blog, take the time to read some non Jericho related content and get a feel for what this person is all about. Get to know them and their style...picture this person as sitting right in front of you and and tailor your comments to what appears to make them tick. When you've got a good feel for the person...go in for the kill. Pick an aspect of Jericho that you feel will interest them...if we get the slightest bit of interest, the show will do the rest to pull them in.
Same goes for mainstream media...take care not to interfere with a journalists' work. All above applies here with that one big caveat...don't get in the way of this person doing what they do for a living.
On the other boards...encouragement for good ideas...respectful direction for the ideas that aren't so good or need work or are just outright dangerous.
Just some general thoughts to start. I really believe in this social engineering stuff...I've seen it work...I've used it myself to great success, and even though I do have reservations about basically being somewhat deceitful in my actual interest level in the person...it's a tool that we need to embrace and use to it's fullest advantage."
Thanks. I couldn't have said it better.
