Jericho: Copywrite Ink

I would like to thank Rich at Copywrite Ink for the beautiful post he wrote yesterday.

"Most people have heard how fans banded together and convinced CBS to reverse its decision to cancel Jericho, a post nuclear terrorist attack survival drama, with 20 tons of nuts (among other things). Many know that Jericho is now set to be highlighted in 2008 as one of the few shows with any episodes for the new season.

But this story isn’t as big as all that. And perhaps for that reason, it shines twice as bright.

On Mon., Nov. 26, popular Jericho blogger and dedicated fan Jane Sweat put out a plea to fellow fans that she was desperate and needed help. Her 11-month-old retriever, Boo, had been housed at a shelter, waiting to be adopted after Sweat had moved from her home with plans to sell it.

What will they lend, share, or say? This single story of kindness seems to go a long way, at least for me. Social media can be astounding; you just need to look in the least likely but right places — like a Jericho blog where you can find the story of someone, recently displaced from her home, making the effort to save her best friend, and the fans who made it possible. Amazing."

Jericho On Hey Nielsen

Jericho is ranked # 4 at Hey Nielsen.

Go here to leave your opinion.

NEWS: Jericho Monster Wins Hey! Nielsen's "Top TV Blog" Contest

"Blogs are the epicenter of online passion, and these TV blogs are taking passion to an entirely new level," explained Pete Blackshaw, EVP of Nielsen Online Strategic Services and a member of the HeyNielsen.com team.
"The common thread across the winners is deep, in-depth, spirited - and sometimes controversial - rants and raves about shows, including those which got cancelled."

"The Nielsen Company says only 13.7 percent of TV households in the U.S. have High-Definition TVs -- and the high-def tuners necessary to watch HD programming.

Additionally, only 11.3 percent have the sets, the tuners and receive at least one HD network or station, the company said.

The numbers may alarm some advertisers and other companies looking to target the high-def audience. There has been a perception among some that the HDTV' audience is larger due to reports that high-def sets are now in 30 million U.S. homes."

Jericho: How Do You Watch?

"There's been a lot of debate about how people prefer to get their video fixes and whether or not PC viewing is starting to cannibalize attention to the big screen. Not surprisingly, it varies widely by demo."

"Content remains king in digital age, says CBS chief"

We are striking back against the view that network TV is doomed in the digital age.”

That was the message from CBS President and CEO Leslie Moonves at this year's Mipcom in Cannes, where he was named personality of the year.

He told an audience at a packed Salle Lumiere that content remains the critical issue in a digital age.

CBS “drives the global engine….Wireless is useless if you’re hitless,” he said.
