Jericho: Condor
Amy at RemoteAccess discusses preparing for tonight's episode: Condor.
More here.
Great article from the New York Times:
"The postapocalyptic fantasy “Jericho” has returned for a second season more pungent and more pointed than its first. (As a matter of procedure we properly ought to start by thanking the fanatics who borrowed from the show’s spirit of communitarianism, sending CBS executives 20 tons of peanuts to rescue the series from cancellation.)"
"New television sets being manufactured this year are being equipped with outlets that will allow users to connect the sets directly to the Internet, the Los Angeles Times reported today (Monday). The connectors will eventually allow them to receive television shows on demand, as well as weather forecasts, stock quotes, and YouTube videos, the newspaper noted. George Kliavkoff, NBC Universal's chief digital officer, told the Times that while most consumers have shied away from additional set-top boxes for such programming, a connection built into the TV set is likely to have a chance. "It brings the ability to have unlimited channel capacity, personalized channels -- a celestial video jukebox in the sky," he said. David Eun, Google's vice president of content partnerships, added, "This is about making content accessible to as many viewers as possible."

Jericho : Viewers and Measurement

I am not fond of Facebook or the way it's set up but I go where there are Jericho viewers to be found. So, here is the easiest, simplest tutorial on using Facebook that I could find.
Come on and join us.
Talk of online audience measurement reached a crescendo in 2007. Publishers, advertisers and measurement firms grappled with significant shifts in how Web content is published and how users interact with it. Publishers pumped up the complaint volume about reporting discrepancies. And the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) demanded the two biggest online measurement firms shed light on their methods.
While baby steps were taken in '07 to adjust audience measurement for a maturing Web, publishers remain disgruntled, Internet users continue to explore new means of consuming digital media, and, for better or worse, agencies have more and more data to decipher.
Perhaps the most significant event in the space occurred in April. In an impassioned missive addressed to the CEOs of online measurement firms ComScore and Nielsen/NetRatings (now Nielsen Online), IAB CEO Randall Rothenberg expressed dismay and frustration with discrepancies in site audience and ad impression reports. Most Googled: Jericho

"Here are some of the most watched, most downloaded, and most enjoyed search queries of the year. All of these searches had the largest volume on Google.com in the U.S.
1. Heroes (NBC)
2. Lost (ABC)
3. House (FOX)
4. 24 (FOX)
5. Bones (FOX)
6. Jericho (CBS)
7. Reba (CW)
8. Scrubs (NBC)
9. Greek (ABC)
10. Caveman (ABC)"
" Jericho - With the new, second season of Jericho coming soon, CBS should air the first season once more in prime-time and promote it in a big way. They did this during the summer, but it was right around July 4th when many potential viewers were not watching television. Run it again now to get the attention it deserves and bring in new viewers ready to make the second season of Jericho a success."

Jericho Fantasy Games

Save Bob's Family Campaign
Skeeterbit thought it would be a fun idea to send some play money and a note to Bob Stevenson after reading the production blog.
The idea is for you guys to post messages to Bob. I will do up a note, include some play money, and send it off on behalf of all of us at RFJ. I'd like to get some more responses so we can send it out soon.
I'm always scampering around trying to find anything Jericho and, today, I found something I hadn't seen before. It's a
great website from AndiMn of CBS board. Good draw for new fans. It's called Rejected Reality. Check it out here.
What a really fun idea!
What we are going to do is role play in the Jericho world a bit. Everyone is going to create a character. This character can be a representative of the real you, a complete fantasy, or a little bit of both.
Then, we are going to go through all the episodes one by one, starting with the Pilot. We will talk amongst each other in the voices of these characters. More details and general rules will be forthcoming.
To have a story, we need characters...so go here to fill out the character survey.

Nuciferous, Nuts, and News

Don't forget. CBS is pre-empting Jericho tonight. Pass the word that Jericho will be back next Friday night. Since CBS didn't announce this people may be upset to learn Jericho won't be on.
Thanks to Bob for my Rockin'Girl Award. Go visit Bob's blog even if it isn't about Jericho because he's a Ranger too.
"Earlier this year BlogTalkRadio helped make headlines when a campaign launched in part on a show hosted on the website prompted fans irate over the cancellation of CBS television show "Jericho" to send 40,000 pounds of nuts to CBS. The effort paid off, and the TV network has decided to bring the show back for another season."
Nuciferous-WOW!
You've got to go visit here. There's any information you could want about Jericho.
New video, fan sites, media coverage, and much, much more.
Truly awesome!

Only 1 question: Best Fight: Jericho Fans vs. CBS
Question # 3.
"CBS’s 'Power' Loss"
"CBS’s new Drew Carey game show “Power of 10” dropped 26 percent from its Tuesday preview last night to post a 2.0 rating among adults 18 to 49. The show tied for 7th place for the night and matched an NBC repeat of “Most Outrageous Moments” for the 8 p.m. hour."

Jericho Coalition
Let me preface this post from the CBS board by saying that some questions have been raised that will be answered shortly. I do want to clear up a couple of things:
1. jerichocoalition.com is NOT the new fan club site. It is where the various representatives will meet to coordinate a fan club.
3. This other board in no way takes anything from the CBS board. Yes, CBS said we need to keep this board active but they also said we have to find new viewers. They did not say to live at CBS. I cannot stay there all day and night and try to spread the word about Jericho at the same time.
"OK folks, the CBS message board gets to have 5 representatives for the Fan Club.
The job of the representatives will be to gather ideas from the members of the CBS board and relay them to the "Coalition of the Willing" Fan Club site. There the ideas will be discussed by the reps from all the different forums.
This way everyone gets a say in what YOU want you fan club to be like. Everyone will have a voice.
Sooo, since no one has opened up nominations for CBS board, I thought I would start. We can each post our nominations here - if we get more than 5 nominees - we will take a vote. The nominations will close on Friday the 27 at midnight.
(already nominated reps from other boards will not be eligible to also be a rep from the CBS board )
You can nominate yourself or another person. All nominations will need to have a second. (and the person needs to accept, lol)
I will keep the list of nominees updated here.

Fishing For Jericho Viewers
Someone asked me again last night how to find Nielsen viewers. I replied, as I always do, that we cannot just look for Nielsen viewers because we don't know who they are. This means we have to look for all viewers. Today I'd like to mention one way of finding new viewers.
Go to Google and type in " message boards" Jericho and you will get a list of 372,000. Imagine if we could post on the majority of them and most are related to our Jericho. For example, they're talking Jericho at soonerfans.com. I know some of those fans can be fanatic about their team so they might give us a try.
There are the usual boards like those at AOL and Yahoo then there's even Jericho talk at the courttv boards. How about aeroforceone.com- a board for Aerosmith fans? Yep, they're talking Jericho too. Here are just a few more:
cinemablend.com
grab.com
indystar.com
jerichoforumdiscussion.com
flicksnshows.com
mediavillage.com
If you watch any shows on any networks/cable check their message boards. You don't even have to mention Jericho. Use a Jericho avatar or put something about Jericho in your signature. Think about what Jericho is about. Who does it attract?
Try forums about preparedness, survival, nuclear attack. I found some viewers once on a board about Avian Flu. Try boards about the stars themselves. There are lots of celebrity sites. Creativity is the key.
Forget about who might be a Nielsen viewer and concentrate on casting a huge net
to catch all new viewers. There just may be some Nielsen families in that net when you pull it up.
And, when you visit a website or blog to leave a comment there's often a space that asks for your url. If you don't have one why not use the url of your favorite message board about Jericho?
Feel free to send me your ideas.
